Review: Vidal Sassoon Magic Curl wand

Good Evening Everyone!!

It was my Mum's Birthday on Tuesday - Happy Birthday again Mum!! and she asked for the Vidal Sassoon Curl Magic Curling wand for her Birthday. I went home before we went out for dinner and I asked if she wanted me to curl her hair for dinner - she said yes and I curled her hair with it. I must say I love this curling wand - A LOT!

I curled my hair with it that night as well - and even on my hair (which is long and THICK) it worked beautifully - and lasted quite a while!. I borrowed it from Mum purely to do a tutorial and review on it.

It's really easy to use, it doesn't have any clips or anything that you need to move. It comes with a glove as well, so you don't burn your hands - YAY!. It has a on/off button on the bottom and then a arrow down/up button to choose the temperature. It has 4 different temperature settings and can go up to 200 degrees Celcius depending on how long, short, thick or thin your hair is, it has a setting for it!. It really doesn't take very long to curl your whole head either - which I really like, as I can be a bit lazy at times  ha ha. All you have to do is get a bit of your hair and wrap it around the wand - and let go after about 8 seconds - it really is that easy! The curls are just beautiful and natural and I love my hair when I do it with this wand! As you can see in the pic above it'd look awesome on hair with different colours through it but would still look awesome on brunettes and blondes!

We bought Mum's from Harvey Norman for $69.95. I haven't found it any cheaper than that as of yet, but I'm sure if you get it on sale you could get it for $50-$60. Well worth it I think!.

Check out there website www.vssassoon.com.au to find out more information about the wand and there other products!

Also keep an eye out as the tutorial/review will be up on my youtube channel tomorrow :).

Review : Model Co Fibre Lash Mascara

Hello Hello Everyone!

Tonight, I'm going to do a review on a product I have recently found that I am loving!!!

I actually got this product free believe it or not! I bought one of the Cleo or Cosmo mags last month and this was their free gift! Was pretty impressed with that alone.. The next day I put it on whilst doing the rest of my make-up and was in awe!

It's a pretty cool idea! On the one I got there was 2 sides of the mascara the "lash fibres" and the "lash extension" So you obviously put on the lash fibres first which is which little things that actually look like wool that attaches to the end of your lashes and then after you put the lash extension on which is realistically just mascara and it colours everything in and just elongates everything. I thought it would be a joke and wouldn't work - but it does!!! Mascara's usually don't work that great on me but this one actually does and the fibres do there bit as well.. Obviously they don't make your lashes look ridiculously long but they do a little something!.

I have since been informed by a lovely fellow make-up artist that with this mascara you're meant to put a coat of the mascara on first then put the fibre lashes on, followed by another coat of the mascara :-)

If your wanting mascara that works and gives your lashes a little somethin' somethin' definately have a look at this! From my research when you buy it on the website or what not it comes in 2 seperate bottles and can be purchased on the website for $48.00.

Review : Glitter Gal Holographic Nail Polish Dark Purple

Why Hello again!

A little while ago I was on the search for a holographic Nail Polish. First thing I did, as usual jumped to EBay! There were a few different brands and I did fall in love with some OPI Designer ones but of course they were discontinued and cost at least $30 for a bottle - that was a bit too much for me! I kept on searching and saw these beautiful Glitter Gal ones and were only $8 or something along those lines. They come in Purples, blues, pinks, blacks, nudes and many more! I decided to pick the Purple one as it's my favourite colour!. As soon as I got it - I used it and let me say it's fantastic! The only thing I do not like about it is - it comes in a very small bottle - like 9ml small. If you wanted you could just use one coat but i preferred the darker option so I went for two.

My collection will definitely grow of this brand and of course, I will post more pics as I get them :).

Check them out for yourself - www.glittergal.com.au - it'll definitely not disappoint!

Wedding Makeup - Kit must haves!!

Hello Hello!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mothers Day!

I thought I'd do a blog about weddings. Either if you're a make-up artist or you plan to do your own make-up for your special day, it is best to know the best of the products so you or your client get long lasting and flawless make-up! So I have put together a few products I have that I personally use on myself and clients that work for me - beautifully!

All of these products were purchased from a Brisbane Based company (that also has an online store) called Makeup and Glow! They are a fantastic store that has a lot of professional make-up products as well as hair and also does training. If you are a Make-up artist or even if your not go check them out at www.makeupandglow.com.au. If you're a Make-up Artist you even get a trade discount - woohoo! You will absolutely love these girls and they offer so much information - they certainly know there stuff!.

Product 1 - Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC)  Airbrush Foundation. As I specialise in Airbrush Make-up I obviously use this. I did my training with this product and have never found a reason to try any other products.  It lasts all day and all night as it's sweat and tearproof (a must have for brides). The best thing I personally think about this product is it doesn't feel like your wearing foundation. I personally hate the "caked on" feeling and like feeling as though my skin can breath. They come in 12 different shades and you can mix them together to make that perfect shade and a little goes A LONG WAY! You can buy them for $35 for a 30 ml bottle. OCC also make bronzers and shimmer blushes etc as well - which are great!

Product 2 - Graftobian HD foundation Powder. I have this product in the "warm" I personally think the warm covers most skin shades but I believe you can get them in "light" as well. It comes in 8 colours all ranging from light - dark. You use this over your foundation to set it etc and as it's Hi Def your skin will look fantastic (especially in photos and/or video). It can be purchased for $119.00.

Product 3 - A good concealer - Graftobian Corrector Palette - these beautiful things are a must-have. I originally bought this baby because in my Airbrush course I heard all of these make-up arists talking about  how fantastic it was - and as we do, I wanted to try it out!. It has 5 colours which neuturalises different skin imperfections - and it even has a guide on the back which colour corrects what. It also has a hi light which works perfectly on most skin tones to get that Kim Kardashian highlighted look. I also use Cinema Secrets Concealer palette which also has 5 colours but more to cover blemishes and hyper pigmentation etc. Both of these can be purchased for $29.00 each.

Product 4 -  Makeup and Glow Brush Cleaner. Every Make-up Artist MUST have this. We all do weddings that have multiple clients and obviously don't have time to clean ALL of your brushes in between every client BUT you cannot use the same dirty brushes on each of them either. Here is the answer! This make-up brush cleaner is easy to use and you can even fly with it - for all of you lucky travellers!. You just need to spray it on a tissue and wipe your brush on it and it cleans those babies very well. You can grab this for $8.00 for a 125ml bottle but can also be purchased in a 500ml & 1 litre bottle.

Product 5 - Primer, Primer, Primers - Obsessive Complusive Cosmetics Primer & Graftobian HD Primer with Anti-Shine. Both of these products are perfect for Airbrush Makeup as it helps the foundation stay to your face beautifully. The Graftobian HD Primer even fills in pores to make your skin look every better - how can you complain about that!!. Also having Anti-Shine it stops oily skin getting the better of your make-up. If you are known for having very very dry skin I would suggest putting moisturizer or a hydrating primer on those areas and then one of these primers in the other areas - especially those oily areas. I only just purchased the Graftobian Primer but after doing a wedding party of 6 just days ago I am loving the product. Graftobian can be picked up for $35.00 and OCC can be for $29.00.

I am going to be filming a VLOG on these tomorrow so check that out if your wanting to see more of the products etc. I will be putting them up on my YouTube Channel "BeautywithBelinda" If you have any questions let me know and I can put the answers in the VLOG :). Photos decided they didn't want to be my friend tonight so I have attached the links to the specific products so you could have a better look : )

Have a Beauty-ful Day!

Please note - Although I am recommending these products, purely from one company tonight. I purchased these products myself and am not paid by any company. I personally use these products and wouldn't recommend products or companies I do not LOVE!

Kit staple : NARS blush/bronzer Duo

Good evening lovely people!!

I was going through my kit earlier and thought I'd write about one of my favourite products!

After hearing all about how beautiful the NARS blush "orgasm" & the NARS bronzer "laguna" is I decided I need to get these!!. Last year my lovely sister bought it for me for Christmas. Here in Australia it's a bit difficult to get a hold of but I managed to get it off good ol' eBay for about $55! The bronzer is a beautiful colour it's very natural and would go with most skin tones. It also doesn't have a lot of shimmer or anything in it which I prefer for a more natural look. The blush is a gorgeous peachy-pinky colour with gold shimmer in it. This one would go with most skin tones but for very dark skins tones it may be a bit too soft.

This product would be perfect to have as it's all together so would be easy to travel etc!

Check out the website for NARS for the different colours.. They sure do have some interesting names to say the least ha ha. www.narscosmetics.com

Review : Loreal color infallible

So on YouTube lately there have been a lot of the Beauty Guru's talking about the different eyeshadows that the major drug store companies have been bringing out. One of these have been the Loreal Color Infallible. I wanted to try these out as they can work as a few different things. 1. A base for your eyes so different colours can get the extra POP! or 2. Just a beautiful eyeshadow by itself if your feeling a little bit lazy or convenience is your best option for the day!. I purcashed 2 colours the "013 Burning Black" and "004 Forever Pink". The "013 Burning Black" is a beautiful purple - burgandy colour with shimmer and the "004 Forever Pink" is a beautiful shimmer light pink, goldy colour and let me just say - the pay off is awesome!. I believe there are 9 colours ranging from black all the way through to the blue's and greens. On the website they claim to last up to 24 hrs. Obviously, I haven't tried them for 24 hours but I can definately tell how they'll last a while.

So if your wanting a beautiful "staple" for your kit or a beautiful colour that you can use in many ways this is the eyeshadow for you. For beginners be careful though as it's not the usual eyeshadow it has a creamy sort of feel to it but it can be a bit harder to work with than just putting on your lid.

I'll do a tutorial soon and i'll use these beautiful eyeshadows so you can see what they do.

Have a beauty-ful day!!

Review : Garnier, Miracle Skin Perfector "BB" cream.

The other day I was sitting on the couch watching TV and the Garnier AD for this new BB cream popped up. BB cream is probably not all that new but it seems new to me. I had been contemplating lately trying out tinted moisturizer or something along those lines as I don't have bad skin but every girl loves a little bit of coverage - almost like a security blanket! So when I saw this ad I thought to myself "Belinda, you should go check that out!" - so I did.

Luckily for me and most other people in Australia, this specific BB cream was on sale at pretty much every chemist/supermarket I went to. I got mine for $8.50 at Kmart. I believe they only come in two colours - "Light" & "Medium". I swatched it underneath my wrist to see which one would suit me better, and it turned out the "light" was best for me.

As soon as I got home I tried it out and I must say I am in love. It gives you enough coverage to make you feel comfortable but obviously it doesn't feel like your normal foundation would and certainly makes my skin feel a lot better. It works as a tinted moisturizer but has other benefits. Especially coming into the colder weather here in Australia - although Queensland isn't known for having cold winters (but I'm QLD born and bred so it is cold for me ha ha) the moisturizer will work wonders during the day so that your skin won't feel dry and rough. I already have realized a difference in my skin. So if you need something that gives you a bit of coverage but lets your skin breathe and also improves your skin then I would recommend this product!

The benefits that Garnier "BB" cream has - (that says on the box)
     - 24hr hydration
     - Evens complexion
     - Reduces sun spots & imperfections
     - Boosts healthy glow
     - UV protection SPF 15 (we need this in QLD weather)

If you want some pictures of me with "before and after" shots, so you can see the coverage etc let me know :-).

Have a beauty-ful day!
